After a flurry of activity, we are at a standstill waiting for the exterior doors to arrive on Thursday. They should then finish putting up the Hardie and windows and pocket doors. When the door guy came to measure, he asked if this was going to be an office. Ahh the comments have started. The guy building a new bungalow down the street was amazed at how much he liked the house, especially when I showed him inside, he commented- "It (the house) is very confident says I'm different and I don't care if you like me"- I guess I will take that as a compliment. Hopefully more progress photos on Thursday.
We are dodging the rain the best we can and making some progress. The rest of the windows are finally installed and the Hardie siding is looking good, a little dirty from sitting in the mud-but good none the less. Picture 2 shows my little custom pocket door that goes from the pantry to the closet accessible from the outside for quick trash removal, I got strange looks from framers and door guy for this one. Picture 3 shows entry to the "Cat Zone"- i got a lot of grief from the framers for this. The cats can enter from the laundry room to this perch- with a window and later will come the bird feeder outside- for entertainment purposes.
