a little help from our friends

Big props to Ryan and Marcus. They lended valuable extra hands and we got much done this weekend. Tons of stuff moved into the attic, one green wall painted, kitchen hardware installed and so much more. Photos to come! Grass installed today and it looks so tidy, port-a-potty should be gone tomorrow- good riddens! Closed on the house yesterday, all went well- only if we could move in! Final re-inspection tomorrow- cross your fingers.

Totally Railed.

Railing on back steps is going in. I am very pleased, as I knew it would be just a matter of time before my gracefulness went tumbling right over the edge.

Inch by Inch...

Dumpster is gone! The big pile of sand was spread and extraneous lumber was removed to reveal a lovely cleaned up front yard ready for landscaping of some sort which has yet to be determined.

Just Sinky!!

Sinks installed and looking good. All ready for backsplash tile.

Counter Intelligence

Counter tops installed and they look snazzy. They are "Blanco Maple" Silestone, it is made from recycled glass and is stain resistance and super durable- can't wait to test it out!
p.s. cabinets are not blue- that is just their protective wrapping.

Electrified!!

Woah! Watch out we are dangerous now! Austin Energy floored me and showed up right away after inspection snafu was cleared up- we passed our inspections but inspector put the wrong code in the computer...no comment. I am happy we are on our way.

New Use for Ikea Cabinets

Nephew Beckham stopped by and checked out our new kitchen cabinets. The drawers are the perfect size for baby lounging. I wonder if Ikea has a special baby drawer insert. He didn't seem to think it was as funny as his mom and I, so we closed the drawer so we couldn't hear him scream. JUST KIDDING.

Shelf Bonanza!!

Patrick and I were busy bees during th holidays and managed to install almost all of the closet shelving. After much fretting on what type of shelving to use I am pleased with the old KV standard and wire shelf combo. I was astounded that both times we went to Home Depot we were able to find a knowledgeable person to assist us and cut the shelves with the pneumatic cutter gizmo. It was also on sale for the new year, which is always a bonus.
