Security system went in today- i wish we could activate it. All the bells and whistles on this one. Motion detectors, glass break sensors and all. I don't know if we could squeeze any more wires through this house. I think that is it. Almost to insulation.

Wires, wires and more wires

Last Window!!

The last window was installed today- so exciting. Ryan and Patrick finished installing all of the speaker wiring this weekend- I am sure Ryan never wants to be in our house again, well at least without air conditioning in August. We hopefully will have insulation by Monday- if we can get the last bit of roof put on, fingers crossed they will come this week. Rod Richburg and Todd Olsen came by for a lunch visit- Patrick made a special point to explain thoroughly the wiring closet and where the TV will be.

The Clouds are Parting
Well after a very long and trying week, for numerous reasons- we have a silver lining. We have passed all of our rough inspections, with only minor corrections- HALLELUJAH!! The inspector was impressed with the quality of the framing and concrete work and he loved the design- imagine that- no "Is this an office?" comments. The roofers are installing the flashing, so the wrapping front window can go in and we are on the schedule to have that installed next week. Insulation and drywall are imminent. I am off- lots to order and lots to do!

Wiring, and a Whole Lotta Visitors

Speaker wiring has begun. After several mind numbing conversations- I now now much more about Cat-5, RG-6, siamese, control, etc.. wire than I would ever have cared to learn. I think Patrick and Ryan are about 75% done with all the pulling of the wires- I swept for 8 hours and cleaned the bathtub and entertained our numerous visitors. First we had Irene, Patrick's mom and our 2 nephews Josh and Justin. As you can see by the pictures a construction site can be loads of fun for kids, dangerous? - naaah- the port-a-potty seemed to be of particular interest as well. Later on my parents arrived with their constant furry companion Roscoe, people ask where I get my crazy from? There ya go. Sunday proved to be quite productive and no rain in sight, Thank You!!!!!!!!!!
